His name is, Dylan Elise, I included it in the original post. This guy looks to be in his 20's, and he's headed for big things musically. If he was in L.A. instead of NZ, he would have been absorbed by the industry already by now. That kid needs to come to the US, sign with a good agent and then go to work! I'm telling you, with his talent, the producers in the big studios here would work him to death!
Look for more from him in the future!
John
Is this guy related to you?LoLoLoLo
I don't think he will be considered "one of the greats" unless he starts playing with other great musicians. Stick tricks and fancy fills will only get you so far.

Mark, Why are you so down on him? We 'get it,' you're not impressed with him, you've said so in every post to this thread. Now it's just sounding like you have an axe to grind, or that you resent others liking him.
Point taken... Johnnyringo thinks Dylan Elise is nothing special. No need to hammer the point to death.
John
PS - I would never start a 'negative' thread about a drummer, even if I thought he/she was awful. If I can't add something positive to a discussion about another drummer's abilities, I'll keep it to myself. Adding a stream of 'sour notes' to a conversation about another person will only serve to kill any discussion at all. It reduces discussion to the level of idle gossip. Wash-women bad-mouthing the neighbors over the back fence. If, 'I don't like him,' is the only contribution you can make, then saying it once is really enough. John

Great drummer!
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

lj - Do you know of any groups he's worked with? Or, is he a lone-wolf?John
Well he was working around with a few groups a couple of years ago, He also seems to tour with some one name acts, of late seems that clinics are pretty regular.. I reckon Andrew may be able to pin him down as regards current bands etc. Dysfunktional was a NZ band he gigged with..
Cheers

John, my man, you started the thread with Best Drummer Ever????? Then you asked us to form our own opinions. I only made the last remark because you seem to have something invested in this guy. I think he's good, but not the best, that's just my opinion.
