I opted for the two rows of ten lugs because it looked sweet in the photo on their website. Of course, now that I go back and look at yours....It will go into my rental inventory so I am hoping to turn some Nashville drummers onto the Blaemire legacy and the Jenkins/Martin brand. If I am successful, then that is great. If not, I will still have a really cool snare drum and that is enough for me.

Sounds good. If I had a choice I would've opted for the 2 rows of ten.(no regrets, don't get me wrong) I got the 2x10 on a Ludwig 6.5x14 Legacy that I ordered to match my kit and though I can't attribute its sound strictly to the lugs, I know in that case it works!

Believe it or else!

Greg, what do you have? 50's/60's Faucet handle? Regular Ludwig curved T? Either will do.Solution to the Tama hardware problem: I'm going to use 60's Rogers Swivo hardware on the drums! I think I can make this work! The Rogers stuff is sturdy, lighter and will look 100% better on the drums than the heavy Tama stuff. These fiberglass drums are heavy enough by themselves. I'm going to lighten them up so they can shimmy.John

Now you are talking Rogers hardware best ever made I have a rogers double tom holder backing plate you can have if you need it...

It is not built yet so we can change the lug set up if you like.

Wow, Scott, that 6.5 x 14 is going to become a staple in your arsenal. Wait until the drummers get to play it at gigs. The proof is in the pudding. I hope it generates a bunch of new Blaemire fans! Tell you what, Squint, if it's open to a vote, I'd go with the dbl. row of 10's!

Mick - You -have to- bring your 6.5 x 14 next time you come down to see me! If it's not tucked under your arm when you show up... I may ask you to produce I.D. before I let you in! lol

MikeT - Thanks for the generous offer, bro! If I swap out the Tama for a Rogers dbl. tom mount, I'll pm you.

Jinx - As more and more drummers begin to discover the wonderful drums that you and Dave are making, the drums will sell themselves. You don't have to say a word. Sit a drummer down behind one of your drums and hand the man a set of sticks. Come back 10 minutes later and that drum will be sold! Excellent snares, I'm am really digging mine. I love to play a lot of that rolley, clangy Nee Awlins second line stuff and my snare sings out on the rims. The crack produced when it's hit near center can wake God Almighty from the deepest sleep!

New heads are coming... T-rods for the bass drum, also on the way, two Ludwig tom mounts that my long-time friend, Mikey Layton is sending to me for the toms, are on the way and all I need now is a 22" Ludwig hoop for the batter side of the bass drum. Anybody got one for sale?

I'm going to use green-glass glitter strips for the bass drum. It'll visually tie my raw Blaemire shelled snare drum into the kit.

I can't wait!

Too many great drums to list here!

I love the look of both. On a 6.5" deep snare though, I've always loved the look of a "Ludwig Schoolfest". Here's a shot of a white Jenkins/Martin with a 5.5x14 sitting atop it. Also, my original Blaemire shelled "Schoolfest".

BTW, the 5.5x14 sitting atop the J/M drum is from last years Chicago Show. It was an attempt at white, but still had a slight green tint to it. Obviously, the white has been worked out, as you can see in the J/M.

Beautiful drums! Is that a Trick strainer on the school-fest? I like the white fiberglass!

Squint - just waiting on some heads and hardware to arrive. Then it's photo time! I'll grab a couple of shots tomorrow while the heads are off so you can see the interiors and Allen's tag/label.

Yes, Trick on my Blaemire. I originally had a P85 on it, but have never been a big fan of that throwoff. This is my main gigging snare, and I wanted something a little more dependable. Used a retroplate, no extra holes.

Ok, Boy-o's, here are a couple of shots of the inside of one of these puppies. I love the almost olive green of the natural fiberglass. The second shot is of the Blaemire label that is inside each shell. The heads arrived to day and so did the T-rods for the bass drum. More photos after I perform the final assembly.
