Those look great. Congratulations on an excellent trade.
DW or Rogers? Last viewed: 9 hours ago
You will love this kit for the rest of your life, Great trade. Dw still makes the drums you traded so you can always get more but Rogers is no more real treasure you just purchased.
I would go for that Rogers set, and in green sparkle !!!!!! rare ....Bowing
Very nice! Based on the double tom mount, the kit originally came with two toms. Plus there is an aftermarket cymbal mount on the bass drum. If you want to have a more original Rogers look, you could get a Rogers Knobby cymbal mount or you could look for 12" tom tom.
I noticed something raised and square under the bass drum tom mount. Is that some type of patch? Are there also two Rogers script badges?
Looking through the catalogs, I wonder if this was originally a Ultra-Power kit that's now missing the other 14x24 bass and 10x14 tom tom?

Thanks very much. I will leave it the way it is for now :)
yep the Larm mount and Larm are after market, and there is some wierd square patch under the double tom mount which may have been added, also the tom arm is after market it should be the same shape as the spurs.... but the wrap does look original they are Fullerton drums by the knobby mounts and collets and this is confirmed by the 9/72 tags still a good trade...
I am curious about the sqaure patch under the double tom mount.
After looking at it again it is possible that someone rewrapped that drum Rogers 9/72 Fullerton drums came with a steel plate that was on the inside of the bass drum and was a backup plate for that double tom holder it is possible the person did not know where the plate went and they put it on top of the shell and put the wrap over it ...... your tom arm should look like this

My guess is the original owner lost the tom arm and used that curved iron you see in the pictire. That's is clearly non original. However all the rest looks legit to me according to pictures of other bassdrums I have been checking (sqaure patch included)
What you see on top of the bassdrum is a regular swivomatic double tom post mount like this one. All great and original.

I'll try to find/buy that original arm. This is what I need

I would like to buy also a period correct hi-hat stand and bass pedal....
It's interesting that Rogers would apply the wrap directly over top of the metal reinforcement plate.
The correct tom arm for the double tom mount is the short style. The one you have pictured is the longer mount for single toms. The shorter arms are more available and less expensive than the longer arms, which is good for you.
Please don't feel like we are nitpicking your kit. We're just giving you some tips on how it was originally configured. It's up to you, if you want to make these very minor changes. Either way, it's an awesome kit. DW's are a dime a dozen. Well maybe a little more than a dime. :) But that Rogers kit is something special and the green sparkle looks great.
Please keep us updated on your project.

Tim, Thanks very much. I have been in the vintage guitar world for a good time and own some good pieces so I am more than used to be picky about vintage stuff.
All you tell me is great so I learn more about this drum kit and it forces me to find answers to your questions. kit Cool1
