Just a few shots I took with my phone. Didn't know so many forum members were there. We probably were all bumping shoulders and didn't know it.

Got there when it opened at 10:00 but had to leave before the clinics. Found some miscellaneous Rogers swivo hardware items I needed so it was a short, but worthwhile show for me.

> Zorro sets up with his side to the audience.

It was a clinic... if he set-up (facing) Purdie, the floor tom would hide what he's doing with his feet/pedals. Zoro also sets-up sideways on stage too.

As for Bernard and the Beatles... the man played on Miles Davis' "B-itches Brew", - his reputation as a groove-monster on the drums is carved in stone in music history. After a recording history like this:

http://www.bernardpurdie.com/discography.htm

Purdie can tell all the fishing stories he wants! Old-timer like him has earned the right. Doesn't alter anyone's estimation of the man both, as a drummer or as a musician. Bernard is a bona-fide National Treasure.

Let the mud-slingers sling their mud. They always seem to get more muck on themselves than on the person they're targeting anyway.

Too many great drums to list here!

^^^ Good gear pics thanks. I tried to take a few but there was too many people in there. They would have been all "people" shots LOL.

You know I did hear someone ask Bernard a question about Michael Jackson. I couldn't hear exactly what the question was but Bernard made a face at the person and didn't answer it. I was sitting towards the back of the room and was hard to hear the questions asked.

Maybe at next years show the VDF members can meet somewhere to chat and say hello. would be nice to meet a few folks from here.

Does anyone know who the vendor was setup in the middle of the larger room those pics were taken at? Guy was wearing some kinda hat with antlers or something on them. He has his cymbals in racks on the table and some snares and boxes of parts around him. I thought I grabbed a card from him but didn'rt get one. He had some stuff I was interested in but never got a chance to talk much with him.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

I have little respect for anyone that purposely lies about their career, I don't care who they are. Yes, he's made tons of recordings and he can groove, but, that doesn't give him the ok to deceive people.

You were "deceived" by Bernard Purdie?

John, you never have anything good to say about anybody, or anything. I'm not surprised that the only angry/nasty contribution to this thread came from you. "Did Zoro have his back turned to Purdie?" Man, are you serious? Is this the kind of thing you entertain in your mind? Is -this- what you're concerned about? Get a Life.

You seem to enjoy looking for, and bringing out, - the worst in people. That's -your- problem. You obviously 'get-off' on acting the part of 'spoiler.' Your mean-spirited contribution to a thread where people are showing some love and respect for their drum hero's is not only out of place, but a cry for attention on your part. Either get into the spirit of thing, or sit out the dance. No need to **** on anyone's parade. Every time I turn around, you've got your hose out spraying everybody in sight. Capt. Bring-down.

Try breaking the Prozac in half in the morning. Might help your disposition.

Thanks all for the photos and info on the show and the clinics.

I don't think I'm the one with the problem, so go ahead and idolize these guys and give no thought if they have any morals. A liar is a liar, I don't care how much I respect their drumming ability.

You never lied, John? You'd be the first human being in the history of the planet earth who didn't. Does it mean that you have no morals? I don't think so. Unless it's a chronic condition. What makes you so perfect, or pure, that you have the stones to sit in judgement of another man who; you never met and whose life you know very little about.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone..."

Good advice!

Oh really now, don't start quoting the Bible, you know what I'm talking about. To answer your silly question, yes I've lied, I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of, but I never told people I recorded drum parts on Beatle records in the dark of night without any of the Beatles knowing about it. I'm just saying I would call him on it, I'm not judging him, but I think the guy has a few loose screws.
