Is hard rock and roll still alive anywhere? Last viewed: 41 seconds ago

Yes it does! I currently play in two original hard rock bands.......OTYUGH (pronounced AW-TEE-UG) & Electric Magma, which is an instrumental band. I am forty and have been playing original, hard rock for over twenty years. If anybody is interested you can check out our stuff on Facebook or You Tube. Any members from Ontario? We are playing at The Bovine next Friday on November 2nd. It would be a trip to actually meet a fellow member. Come down check out my 1978 "monster" Vistalite kit that I will be playing. It will be a heavy show.....I will buy you a beer:)

Hi Mike,

Van Halen really did put out a very good rock album this year, other than the first song. It is worth taking a listen. Heaviest album they have released in some time.

Here is a tune I'm into at the moment...Dead Sara...Weatherman...Pretty straight forward drum part though, but, very catchy lyrics...

When at a recent L.A. dinner someone asked me "Whatever happened to Rock?" "Aren't there any Rock musicians left these days?" ... to which the host's wife replied "Sure there are!...they all moved to Nashville where they now play what's known as "Country"! guitar2

I haven't seen or heard a great hard rock band in ages. Punk, alt music kinda put a kink in the sound Blue Oyster Cult had it in spades for a few years. The early Alcie Cooper. The Scorpions weren't bad either. In my humble opinion that is.Oh 70's Black Sabbath and Budgie

Whatever you may think of his marketing, for awhile The White Stripes kicked some hard rock I'd say. Simplistic but fun. And then there's Meg on drums....Yes Sir

I haven't checked into this thread in a little bit so, excuse me if I'm repeating a band that's already been covered. I wanted to share these guys with you. They're all excellent musicians and a kick-a$$ modern Rock band.
