Ooh...smooth standard lugs. I like that! Think the snare lugs fit the B+B snare holes?

Actually, I think they would. I just posted some pics that demonstrate the minute differences between the Standard and classic lugs (as far as Rogers toms go). I would bet they would fit the snare.

From Powertone

Couple of points from a Rogers collector....Don't drill to install repros, especially if it is a nice kit in rare sizes and finish. It is quite possible to track replacements for the more cracked lugs. Even a lightly cracked lug should hold the tension well enough for toms and bass drum tunings. I would repros for snares.I love the idea of someone remaking an affordable modern version of that lug. It is one of the most beautiful designs and would look great on a modern kit. Why not do it? There are a couple of cusom builders out there doing Slingy beavertail repros and they look fantastic.

You don't have to drill for Repros...the Repros are the same spacing as the originals, and take the same mounting screws. That is part of the beauty of 'em.

You only need to drill for B'tails.....

Indeed...Luddy lugs. Also...I have seen some previously B&B shells sporting the 70's Pearl lugs as well (the sorta boxy-looking ones) so my guess is those are also of the appropriate spacing, perhaps ?

You could always just do that...just take the B&B's off, put 'em in a box, and put on replacement lugs of the same hole spacing. Only small issue might be the 'footprint' which the replacement lugs might leave in the wrap.

haha. I've been scratching my head for days about this.. and now this obvious solition comes up.. I mean, it's weird putting ludwig lugs on a rogers, but you know what, I prefer the looks of the standard lugs over the bevertails..

but let me get this straght small "tom" B/Bs = small classic lugs, but what about the bass drum, do they have the same spacing as the large classic lugs?

I only did a tom conversion I can't tell you about the bass drum spacing. I'm sure somebody here can check for you.

Why wouldn't I?

And, excuse my newbieness regarding calf skin heads. I have never used/heard/owned any.
