This picture was taken about a year after I got those drums and it makes them look much better than they were... horrible pile of junk. I bought them almost new, but they were manufactured from so inferior materials in so cheap way, that I don't feel any nostalgia about the time I had to play them. When I got my Sonor Force 2007 after two years of playing that Stagg crap, I was SO HAPPY... unfortunately, I already had the vintage drum bug then, so I wasn't content for long...

Still looking for my first kit pics. Spent a good hour in the attic looking through old photo albums. Nothing yet and hope they didn't get tossed somehow. I did come across my very first snare drum. It was all plastic LOL. This would be Christmas of 67. Pic is dated April 68. Dad always collected many rolls of film before they went to the store. I am 9 in the pic. This is the drum that started it all. I don't have a scanner this is just a crappy cell phone pic of the pic. :)
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

No, I don't have that actual kit. It was a 20-12-13-16 Londoner with matching Powertone snare in Red Onyx.
I sold it a couple of years later to pay my car insurance (I was a struggling college student).
I do have a kit almost the same these days. I've had it for about 7-8 years. It's got a 22" bass, but is the same in other respects. It's an early Fullerton and not a late Dayton like the original, but there are almost no differences.
It also has the matching Powertone, and also I found the matching cannister throne, which is hard to find: I've never seen onother one in Red Onyx.
They were purchased originally in Nov. 1977.
I got them in Nov. 1979, exactly two years old. Original owner was going to Hawaii. I have his original sales receipt. Drums, Paiste 2002 cymbals, fibre cases, all hardware, 1450. I paid a thousand. I was 19. And here they are today, pic from last summer. I haven't gotten to play much for the past couple years, and this year only twice. Yesterday, I just couldn't handle it any more, and they are set up in my living room right now.

What a great kit and that matching cannister throne in Red Onyx just sets the whole thing off!! I`ve never seen one either and thanks for sharing your story.I`m really enjoying hearing the stories about our early drum roots.
