("Beatlemania" hit our little community after that first Ed Sullivan Show appearance.)

Bill, My first band.. (The guys that helped me back on the train with that kit) Were three brothers who with their parents and (8) other siblings, had recently migrated to OZ from Bootle, Liverpool, England. No guesses for where our Orbison, Presley and Holly repertoire went as soon as the Fab 4 came on to the charts. And we grew our own wigs around that time.. worst part was those pointed toe Beatle boots that would tangle in the Kick beater strap.

Great story longjohn and i`ve still got a pair of those Beatle boots that would get tangled in the bass pedal strap-so true.Beatlemania was such an influence on so many of us and has inspired us to play to this day.Lookin` for more first kit pics and memories if anyone has some to share-i love this stuff !!!

Very nice post.

All the dreams we had on thoses old days are still there. Drumming.

Very nice collection of drums.

Here is mine in 1979, a Maxwin. I was so happy when i got it (in 78)

As many, my first kit was a snare drum, with a cymbal and a wash-powder barrels kit (Procter & Gamble was the first drum company for a lot of kids, i think)
