My Leedy Drums - Stolen Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Loading...

I posted a couple of years back about a beautiful set of 1963 Leedy drums that I inherited. They belonged to my father-in-law, who was a working musician in the 60's and 70's. When he passed, my wifes siblings decided they should go to the only other drummer in the family, which is me. I played them, exclusively, for the past two years. I played a show this past Saturday and didn't get home until 2:30 in the morning. I was so tired, I decided to unload them in the morning. Bad decision. Someone took the whole kit from my car, along with all of my cymbals and the drum throne.

I live in the south bay area of Los Angeles. If anyone in this area hears word or sees a gold sparkle 1963 leedy drum kit for sale, please pm me. It's not just a drum kit to me. These have some serious sentimental value to me and my wife.

> Bad decision

I empathize with you. The only time I had drums stolen from me was under identical circumstances. I was ripped off -while- I was breaking down from a gig! I left the drums alone for no more than 5 minutes as I ran back into the club to get paid and grab the last of the gear. By the time I got back to my car... gone! Everything.

Watch Craigs' List and local music stores. Send flyers with your contact info, offer of reward and pictures of the drums, to every pawn shop/Buy & Sell in town!

I'll keep a good thought for you, hope you get them back.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thanks everyone. I made flyers to pass around to neighbors, pawn shops and music stores, offering a reward. They have a pic of the kit. I also informed my network of musicians who have spread the word. The response from my fellow musicians has restored my faith in humanity. I will try to post a pic later. Gonna keep an eye on craigslist and ebay too.
