I forgot about the bass spurs. I suppose a second set of spurs could be installed to look as though the drum came that way from the factory. I understand the reluctance to alter a great vintage drum set. I don't do that if the drums were still in original shape.

True Dan,but puts the spurs at the batter side and the script badge backwards unless someone would want to alter these.A true lefty set would be ordered that way-just gotta` love those rare lefty sets.

Came across some Rogers endorser shots that they offered in the early catalogs. Here is a lefty drummer:
Good find! Interesting to note (though it is a bit difficut to be sure given the BDP finish) that it looks as if the layout of the 13 tom is unusual that you have the mount in the first panel then the tone control/vent hole then the Rogers script moving from the mount outward. If built like the right-handed tom of the era, I would expect the mount then the script then tone control/vent hole. The guy had a nice set-up in any event.

The idea is this: if a lefty drummer has a righty kit, he could switch the heads around, put the clamp-on spurs on the front hoop, and as a bonus would be able to read the badge himself from behind the drums. Also, the badge is close to the edge of the shell, so it would be in the 'back' of the drum, barely visible from the front.
For a lefty drummer, this would be the way to go, since real lefty kits are extremely scarce.
In the end, it looks like Wayne Brown has the best of both worlds. Slide everything except bass and toms to the other side and voila, a lefty or righty is ready to roll.
