Sure looks like 16" deep by 14" diameter tom to me. Drums of this size were uncommon, but offered by a few manufacturers in the late 50's-mid 60's time frame. My 1963 Walberg & Auge floor tom of that size was most likely a Gretsch shell.

That's strange. A 12x14 would make sense but a 14x16? Cool!
Very cool drum. Only thing that doesn't look Slingerland is the dual slot lug screws. But, they used whatever so....

Very cool little kit, great trade you made with the Rogers kit. Looks like that 16 x 14 is real cool find, congrats!
Thank you!

I've seen those odd cross head bolts in other older Slingerland drums.
That's not really a Phillips head as there is no recessed point to it, more like a double flathead setup, perhaps to speed up production since the worker would have two options to place whatever they were driving the screw in with.
Thanks Jeff, it is a cool kit and I had been eyeing it for awhile. Bart also threw in an aluminum Slingerland snare. The two Stage Band drums are all original and the wmp is not too faded. I took off the kick head and you can't tell much difference where the hoops cover the wrap. The floor is an oddity for sure, but that's what makes it even cooler.

Thanks! Good to know I haven't.

es, those lug screws were common n the late 50's-early 60's. That is one strange (and very col) drum!
I have a Slingerland 16 X14 FT with the post Radio King re-rings (solid maple, approx. 1") and a larger ply ring in the middle. Based on your pics it's the same drum you have. The shell is actually two 8 X 14s and the middle ring is used to hold them together. A great sounding drum and a good substitute for a 16 X 16! Always remember that "Back In The Day" you could order damn near anything and they were happy to make it for you!
