Who uses two rides? Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

One 18" or 20" ride. I hate lugging stuff around!

Funny enough, the 3 cymbals I mentioned are among the ones I have the least money in. All totaled, I have a little over $400 combined in these babies. Got all 3 off of eBay auctions over a period of 4 years...I look for items that fall thru the cracks...that's how I acquired all 3 of these. Got the 22" Trad for $132, the 20" Flat Sig for $98 & the 20" Trad Swish for $111. None of the 3 had any cracks, keyholes or dings...the Swish had a little warp-age on the edge, but it was acquired from a charity auction in L.A. & is autographed by John D. (System of a Down) and he had played it in their charity concert. With the combined shipping, the total was just under $435. I spent almost that much on my 22" Sig Dry Ride that's been sitting in the wings waiting it's turn, I use it every once in a while, but the 22" Trad medium-light is the best ride I've ever owned. I'll never buy another new cymbal!...I could go on sleezeBay right now & buy everything in my collection (almost) and save several thousand dollars! It's a buyers market right now...you're a Bunny!...GET BUSY!!!! LOL!Yes Sir

I had a traditional Swish Engraved for a little while. Let's just say that I needed to sell it... I liked it, but not that much. I think I like a quick decay white-noise cymbal better than a swish or a china.

I thought I was going to get rid of the Blue Bell (if you read my blog, you'd read about the shoot-out), but I think the Alpha Black is going away and the Blue Bell stays...

My Bright Ride actually was a good deal @ $175!!! Yeah- there was a blip on the edge, but it's not very visible. It is a surprising cymbal, for certain...

I want a Sig Dry Heavy Ride BADLY, but I don't want to pay for it, either!!!

I will only buy if it's cheap...

Now I am starting to see that I don't have to be a prog rock master or hair metal dude to have multiple ride cymbals. Is your wedding kit one you play at weddings? Or is the name an inside joke?

Are you familiar with Shotgun Wedding Quintet by any chance? It's a great band, combining intelligent hip-hop and jazz. Totally worth checking out!

As for the ride question. I once used a cracked 16" crash as a sort of trash-ride and I do sometimes ride my crash, but after I found out that I don't need much equipment for the ska-reggae stuff with occasional rock parts that we play, I try to keep my setup as simple as possible - 4 piece kit, hats, crash and ride.

If I got into a progressive rock band, though...!
