robyn!

I only got it this morning, slow your horses! LOL

It's been taken apart for detailing. So far, I cleaned up the shell, the lugs and the strainer/butt plate. Next is hoops, the T-rods and a round of fresh heads. When I reassemble it I'll take some shots for you. It does have a clear and legible ink stamp inside the shell with the April 14, 1964 date easy to read... which is unusual! Most of the ink stamp dates I've seen always have a smeared, or barely visible digit or two missing. This one is sharp and easy to read.

The drum is cleaning up looking like new. When I'm done with it, it'll be a spanking looking snare.

robyn - I should have asked you, or you should have said something, I didn't know you wanted to do the clean-up on the drum but I do understand why you wanted to. Sorry, I just didn't think of it. I wanted to hand you a shiny, new looking drum. Eye candy.

Next time it needs detailing... it'll be -your- turn! :p

I'm going to carefully pack it for shipping tonight so that it stays safe until you're ready. It's a real beauty, robyn. I tuned it perfectly for you and it'll be ready to rock right out of the box.

ps the april 64 date is cool, as long as it is a 64. I can tell every body when Mr.Ludwig built this snare for me, he wanted to make sure it was done and ready for my birth day. LoL HaHaHa.
