Update: I've got the drums apart and the hardware is about to go into cleaning! I'm polishing up the shells right now and inside the bass drum is a signature and what appears to be "2.590" Is this a date or some sort of serial number? The WMP is really polishing up good, really happy with the results so far! Slowly but surely...Cool Dude
Alright guys first one is finished! Snare drum is all cleaned and raring to go. Got it tuned up and damn this drum sounds spectacular!! Really bright and crisp snap. The tom lugs were cleaned up today and are going on tomorrow - bass drum is the grand finale! :D
yes that is a real keeper !

I'll tell ya what, the sickness is pretty contagious! It sounds phenomenal, best sounding snare I've got. I'm hoping the kick and tom will be finished by next weekend, I'll be sure to post some pictures when they're finished! Thank you very much Curtis!

Often Slingerlands from that era have build instructions written on the inside of the drum. You often see "chrome" in that handwriting. Don't have my catalogs handy, but I'm guessing that 590 was a model number for a cymbal holder or spur mount and the instruction was to install two of them on the drum.

Told ya that was a killer snare! LOL.. I really dig the one I have too.
Those RK`S are in their league all their own. Wait to you hear that bass sing!
Great drums for a great price. Now, i recommend that you get busy looking for a floor tom. An exact match for aging on the wrap is least important for the floor tom because it usually resides in the shadows of the other drums in the set.
