I called a local chrome shop and they wanted 60.00 to re-chrome each hoop. Doe's that sound right?

Thank you!

Great job man...LOVE the wrap you chose. Can't wait to see the finished kit. Has your Dad seen the progress or are you waiting till it's completed? What a great story!

Not at all, Jeff. Call other local shops and do more price comparing. That price sounds -way- out of line to me.

Too many great drums to list here!

+1.John's absolutely right. The busier the shop ,the better. These places rechrome metal in batches,so the more pieces they can chrome at one time, the cheaper it becomes.Try calling auto body/motorcycle repair shops and ask who they use.Gunsmiths also use metal plating shops.

That's way too much. Plating shop I use here in Houston quoted me $30 each for these two. I negotiated $45 for the pair. Probably helped that I'm a regular client of his. You will need to take your items to the plating shop in person to get an acuurate quote. And maybe get a little haggling in.

I won't let him see 'em untill I'm all done. I e-mailed him this teaser pic the other day.:D

Man. Sorry to hear that JC. I feel very blessed to still have both our parents with us in fairly good health. I know I spent way too much time & money on this project, but this is my chance to give somthing back, and I've enjoyed every second of it in antisipation seeing dad behind these dudes, almost like they where in '62. Keep on Pl
