A complete Octa-Plus in the dark walnut color or blue sparkle in the original unopened boxes complete with Atlas hardware. The one that was forgotten and stored up in the old warehouse waaaaaaaay in the back over behind the old bookcase in the hidden room. That one! Think I'll eber find it? Either way, that's what I would add. I guess I'm not really searching for anything at the moment. I've got the ones I want already.

Going for orphans to build a late sixties Slingerland Modern Solo Outfit...I have the bass, one 8x12 and the elusive micro-tilting tom mount so far

What is the micro tilting tom mount? Is it the thing that looks like a ball joint off the bass drum?

The set I'm searching for most of you wouldn't bother with, but it was my first set and I would love to get one again. It was a mid to late 60's Pearl set - 4pc in sky blue pearl with the bass drum mounted cymbal. It was a complete rip off of Ludwig stuff- but most likely it was luaun shells. It was a christmas present from my parents in the mid 70's. It wasn't the rock set that I wanted at the time, but I loved playing it. Took lessons on it from a jazz percussionist who kept getting frustrated by me not wanting to play jazz. Thanks to the influence of Alex Van Halen and his giant drum sets somewhere around 1984, that set moved on to someone else.

Found a close match on ebay not that long ago, but the person wanted way too much for what they had and they weren't budging on the price. :(

My dream set has always been a downbeat late 60's Ludwig in mod orange. Fortunately I have a 1969 22,13,16 that I aquired a few years back. Seeing the new mod orange that is being offered is making me want to order a 20,12,14 Ludwig legacy and add that wrap. I have never seen a real 1960's mod orange downbeat in person. Only in pics and the pics were very few. That includes John Densmores set that he used with the Doors.

You are probably thinking of the set-o-matic (that's the one on your 71s, right?). Look here for the micro or telescoping tom mount for the Modern Solo Outfit, or the model 171 on page 171 ( hmmmm? ) in Rob Cook's Slingerland book.

Didn't Gretsch use a similar one in the mid-late 60's as well? Must have been of Walberg & Auge origin....

I have a 70's Deluxe Classic (blue sparkle B/O with no numbers on the badges except the floor tom)

A matched '67 Downbeat kit with a '66 Downbeat snare drum (all red sparkle)

A complete Ludwig Junior -almost like new with original calfskins in perfect shape!

An optional 12 X 18 bass drum for the aforementioned Downbeat kit's bass drum (to make it into a Jazzette) (also a red sparkle '67 with very close matching numbers to the other drums)

And, my pride and joy -a complete 1969 Jazzette with matching Supra and complete, original hardware package -all in excellent condition.

That's just the Ludwigs!

I don't mean to gloat, but there's not much more I could want!

You can say that again. I figured I'd focus on ludwig. That way I wouldn't have a huge mess of different brand parts and stuff. I located the 59 Blue Sparkle for $300 but passed on it due to work on the WMP. I just know have located the 60's red sparkle hollywood. Hopefully I can get it for a fair price.
