59' Ludwig Transition Badge Rewrap Last viewed: 1 second ago

Donnie - Call Andrea at Precision and ask her to send you a swatch of the wrap. You'll have it in your hands just a few days after. Tell her you saw how my kit came out!

Start a thread if you do it, I want to see how yours turns out. :D

That's cool John. Wonder when the photos are gonna be on their site? Did they say?

I just got the email this morning asking if they could grab my photos from the thread. I wrote back giving them permission to use my pix. I figure it'll be up on their 'kits pages' by next week. I'm guessing though, I don't know for sure when. As soon as I see it up, I'll post a URL link here. It's just a cool thing to see pictures of drums I play in my home being featured on drum sites on the web. Tickles me. :p

I'll provide a link whenever it gets posted up over at the Precision Drum site.

I have a 3pc Rogers set in Duco that had a 16" Transition badge Ludwig Floor Tom sold with it. It came with nickel hardware which is in good shape but the wfl leg brackets are a crusty rusted mess. I do plan on keeping this drum. Already stripped. Beautiful maple underneath looks brand new. No stains. No idea what it is worth but it sounds amazing.

My H2 Zoom recorder is on the fritz which gives good sound reproduction. Last sound file I recorded was on my old videocam (I recorded the toms for Big Blue) and the recordings it made just doesn't do the drums justice. Let me futz around with the H2, if I can get it working properly, I'll record a sound file of the kit and post it up.

Samiam - Those 59' transition badge drums are made of aged 3-ply African mahogany. That's why they sound so good. Very sought after drums by vintage Luddy lovers. I'd rewrap it and keep it. Great sounding drums... FAT, warm.

Hey John, I have the Zoom H1 and it does a great job of recording our band at practice. I have often wanted to record my drums so you guys can hear them but how do you record with a device such as the Zoom H1 and post it here on VDF?

Thank you!

Mine just stops recording after a few seconds all by itself without my touching a button. I convert the H2 movies into a Quicktime movie file for the Internet using Quicktime software. I upload it to my You Tube page, copy the URL and then post it here.

You'll need Quicktime or an equivalent piece of software and a You Tube account. Both are free and can be downloaded from the web.

Hey Jeff - Here is a sound file I made of the kit you veneered for me! I made the video to demonstrate the jingle-stick but the drums you worked on for me sound great.

Okay, not worth doing youtube, I tried that once and its hard to do a audio only one, I was hoping there would be a way to just attach my sound file direct to the forum. Not a big deal, thanks anyway.
